Hey everyone!  We are SO excited for the upcoming 2017-18 school year!!!!  We have 48 classes that will happen every Tuesday and over 50 active amazing families.

As this summer winds down, I am getting immersed in curriculum buying and lesson planning as I am sure all of you are too.  It can be overwhelming to say the least.  Coffee and chocolate are a must at times--or Mexican food!  Can I get an amen??? :)

I was reminded today about how quickly these years go by.  The Bible talks about our lives being a "vapor" and today was a day where I fully realized that...again.

God gave us these sweet children/teens to raise...teach...love...guide.  (And so many more other things too!)  I stopped today from all my planning to hang out with my oldest--on purpose.  I realized it seemed like 5 years had literally flown by---and I wanted to get that time back!  The Lord very gently reminded me what was most important:  NOT the best curriculum, NOT the most organized well-laid-out lesson plans, NOT whether all the dishes were clean and loaded in the dishwasher, NOT  even always knowing what to do.

My daughter's heart was the most important thing to Him...and to me for that matter.  So...we laughed.  We joked.  We poked fun at one another.  We ate ridiculously unhealthy Chinese food together.  We watched old shows from the early 90's together like Monk or Matlock.

And.  Made.  A.  Heart.  Connection.  Again.

Life is but a vapor.  In His wisdom, I won't quickly forget that.  Thank You Lord! :)

So...as you're planning...gathering curriculum...writing lesson plans...cleaning the house...WHATEVER...

Stop and connect.  Life goes by SO FAST.

Hello! Praying everyone is staying cool and not melting this summer.  :)

I was reading this morning in Romans 12:9-21.

Let your love be sincere-a real thing; hate what is evil, loathe all ungodliness, turn in horror from wickedness, but hold fast to that which is good.
Love one another with brotherly affection as members of one family, giving precedence and showing honor to one another.
Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.
Rejoice and exult in hope: be steadfast and patient in suffering and tribulation: be constant in prayer.
Contribute to the needs of God's people-sharing in the necessities of the saints; pursue the practice of hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you, who are cruel in their attitude toward you; bless and do not curse them.

And on...and on....all the way through verse 21...how wonderful!  And challenging at the same time.  In today's world-with what we've experienced in our great country in the past month--how directly right on this is!

I always need reminders from the Word of God every day...about whose I am...about Who loves me...about Who has my life in His Hands...that He's always there...that He is my help in times of need...and on...and on...

Lord let me love be sincere today--in every interaction and conversation!

Let me know if the book of Romans is effecting you like it has me.  I would love to hear!  Have a very blessed Thursday and weekend!

Hello SHINE Mommas!  We are praying you are having a great summer--and getting ready to have a great holiday weekend! :)

It has been on my heart to read the entire book of Romans at least once through in July this summer.  Anyone want to do that alongside me????  I've been so encouraged and inspired by the Lord while reading it--I know, I know.  It's only the 2nd of July...but I've read through chapter four already!  There's so much 'meat' to it!  I'm just so amazed at the grace given to us--and the faith in which Abraham walked in--it's inspiring to say the very least.

Romans 4:19-25

He (Abe) did not weaken in faith when he considered the utter impotence of his own body, which was as good as dead because he was about a hundred years old, or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah's deadened womb. NO unbelief or distrust made him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God but he grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God.
Fully satisfied and assured that God was able and mighty to keep His word and to do what He had promised.  THAT IS WHY HIS FAITH was credited to him as righteousness (right standing with God).  (Not his works or obeying every letter of the law every single day.  That's impossible.)

But the words, it was credited to him, were written not for his sake alone, but they were written for our sakes too. (!) Righteousness, standing acceptable to God will be granted and credited to us also who believe in, trust in, adhere to, and rely on God, who raised JESUS our Lord from the dead!
Who was betrayed and put to death because of our misdeeds and was raised to secure our justification or our acquittal, making our account balance and ABSOLVING US FROM ALL GUILT before God.

(Changes and emphasis mine above.)

WOW.  I love that so much.  Thank God it doesn't depend on our works but our trusting in and adhering to the Lord.  Completely assured that God is able and mighty to keep His word!

Let me know via email if you're in for reading the book of Romans with me this month!  :)

Happy Fourth to all!
