The students will be highly encouraged to give creative input on the look and contents of the yearbook. Each student will be given assigned classes or events to photograph each meeting at SHINE and photos must be taken and uploaded to Treering on a weekly basis. Students should expect an average of one hour per week of work to complete outside of meeting time.
The class will cover a variety of journalism disciplines including: computer skills, performing interviews, writing quality articles, creating interesting page layouts, photographing events, and curating the contents of the yearbook. We will also go over some basic photo editing techniques using Photoshop at the Saturday meetings. Access to this program is available at the meetings and a subscription is NOT required for the students.
This class is open to highly motivated and responsible students who are committed to completing assignments on time and with a high quality.
